Key Issues —
The commercial sustainability of many independent tertiary education providers hinges on the large scale return of international students and there is great uncertainty as to when this will occur.
Some intimately involved in these discussions have concluded that the large scale return of international students is not likely until early 2022 given current policy settings – is this the case and, if so, why? Alternatively, if students are to come in large numbers earlier, what will need to change?
In this briefing, you’ll hear about the steps required to support the return of international from the perspective of the following opinion leaders:
…..Phil Honeywood, Chief Executive Officer
…..International Education Association Australia (IEAA)
…..Brett Blacker, Chief Executive Officer
…..English Australia (EA)
…..Robert Parsonson, Chief Executive Officer
…..International Student Education Agents Association (ISEAA)
…..Troy Williams, Chief Executive
…..Independent Tertiary Education Council Australia (ITECA)
…..Belle Lim, President
…..Council of International Students Australia (CISA)
You’ll also receive an overview on the first functional pilot program for the return of international students that’s underway in the Northern Territory from Michael Hall, ITECA Northern Territory Chief Executive Officer.
It will provide you with confidence that the peak bodies in the sector are working collaboratively with the Australian Government on the steps that need to be taken to achieve this goal.
