Higher Education – Stakeholder Engagement

.

A key role for the Independent Tertiary Education Council Australia (ITECA) is to build collaborative partnerships between the independent higher education sector, government and the business community.

The focus of ITECA’s stakeholder engagement is to put the independent higher education providers at the forefront of the debate on the future of higher education in Australia.  Key Australian Government stakeholders that ITECA shares an interest with include the following:

Key Stakeholder ―
Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA)

Responsible for ensuring that higher education providers operate in accordance with the Higher Education Standards 2015, TEQSA works collaboratively with ITECA to regulate the sector.

Key Stakeholder ―
Department of Education, Skills & Employment (DESE)

The Department is responsible for administering the policy framework in which higher education providers are established and funded, including student loan programs. ITECA is appointed to a number of committees that provide advice to the Department on higher education matters.

The advice and guidance of our members on the ITECA Higher Education Reference Committee is vital to the advice that the ITECA policy team in Canberra provide these stakeholders.  ITECA staff enjoy an open an ongoing dialogue that works to keep members not only up to date with policy changes, but to also influence these too.

ITECA provides leadership, strategy, advocacy and support. Our members set our agenda, fund our activities and directly benefit from the results.
