About ― ITECA's Membership

The Independent Tertiary Education Council Australia (ITECA) has a membership that encompasses the broad expanse of the independent tertiary education system.  They are bound by a shared commitment to providing students and their employers with the shared commitment they are looking for.

ITECA membership isn’t granted automatically.  The eligibility criteria include a demonstrated compliance record against government standards, the financial sustainability of the business and the integrity of its directors and senior management.  In this context, ITECA membership is recognised within Australia and globally as a sign of a quality independent tertiary education provider.

  • Independent higher education providers
  • Independent vocational education and training providers
  • Independent providers of non-award courses
  • Members of the ITECA College of Vocational Education & Training Professionals

In addition, ITECA is supported by business partners that include leading suppliers to the higher education plus vocational education and training sectors. These businesses play a significant role in supporting ITECA’s members provide students with the quality outcomes they are looking for.

One of the strengths of ITECA is its ability to bring employees of member businesses together to share experiences, exchange ideas and work together to progress shared interests.  This is what makes the ITECA membership influential in shaping the national debate on government policy affecting the independent tertiary education sector – the Council speaks with one voice.
