Advocacy – Delivering Quality

The Independent Tertiary Education Council Australia (ITECA) provides leadership in providing students and their employers with the quality outcomes they are looking for.

ITECA works with both the Australian Skills Quality Agency (ASQA) and the Tertiary Education Quality Standards Agency (TEQSA) to promote across the sector a shared understanding of what quality looks like.  Indeed, ITECA has formal agreements with both ASQA and TEQSA that are focussed on this outcome.

VET Student Satisfaction Outcomes ―

The National Centre for Vocational Education and Research (NCVER) notes that overall satisfaction with the independent sector is high, with 86.3 per cent of 2017 independent VET provider graduates satisfied with the quality of their training.

Higher Education Satisfaction Outcomes ―

NCVER data also shows that students studying at independent higher education providers in 2017 reported higher satisfaction than universities with the entire educational experience as well as with skills development, teaching quality, student support and learner engagement.

In reviewing the performance of the independent tertiary education sector, ITECA maintains open dialogue with the Australian Government and state / territory governments to identify emerging trends.  When examples of excellence or challenges present themselves, ITECA works collaboratively with government to identify the causes and ensure that the appropriate policy response is reached.
