VET Sector – Policy advocacy

The Independent Tertiary Education Council Australia (ITECA) affords you the opportunity to join with colleagues to positively influence government policy that sets the regulatory and funding environment for independent Registered Training Organisations (RTOs).

As a member of an ITECA National Reference Group, the issues that you'll be working on are both those that government asks ITECA for comment on, but also those that the ITECA membership raises proactively.

Making A Difference ―
Issues Before National Committees

◾ Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) regulatory standards and enforcement.
◾ National funding of vocational education and training.
◾ Regulation of international education providers and student visa issues.

You'll be working along side the ITECA Policy Team in Canberra who are highly experienced policy advocates and who are able to negotiate policy outcomes thanks to their established network of contacts that includes Ministers, Shadow Ministers and senior departmental staff.

Get Involved ―
ITECA National Reference Committees

◾ ITECA Vocational education and training reference committee
◾ ITECA International education reference committee

Participation in an ITECA National Reference Committee affords allows you to meet peers from across the vocational education and training sector.  The great thing is that you'll develop a shared understanding of the problems before independent RTOs and what it takes to solved these.
