NSW Releases Vocational Training Return Path

New South Wales ■ Vocational Education & Training

Summary —

The New South Wales Government has released its Return to VET Guidelines, which will give VET providers a view of what face-to-face teaching will look like when vaccination milestones are reached, in line with broader reopening of the state's economy.

Key Issues —

The Independent Tertiary Education Council Australia (ITECA) has been working closely with the New South Wales Government to map the pathway back to face-to-face teaching for vocational education and training (VET) providers.

The New South Wales Government commitment to the Australian Government’s National Plan to transition Australia’s Nation Covid-19 Response will see restrictions in New South Wales' vocational education and training eased sector at two key vaccination milestones, 70% full vaccination and 80% full vaccination.

In line with these milestones, New South Wales' vocational education and training providers will be able to return to face-to-face teaching, albeit with a number of measures required to be taken by providers to ensure the safety of their staff and students.

To assist vocational education and training providers in returning to face-to-face training, the NSW Department of Education has developed the Return to VET Guidelines which outline what vocational education and training will look like when vaccination milestones are reached.  The guidelines can be downloaded via the link below.
