2021 ITECA Business Summit –Adelaide


    The South Australian Government has made a substantial investment in skills and recognises the ability of independent Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) to deliver the quality outcomes sought by students and their employers.  Find out about the reforms to date and the State Government's future agenda.

    Within a year South Australia will head to an election, so it's opportune to hear from the Opposition about their views on vocational education and training. Find out about the potential refocus on public TAFE colleges and what this means for the independent sector.

    The VET Student Loans program assists eligible students pay tuition fees for approved higher-level (diploma and above) vocational education and training (VET) courses, when studying at VET Student Loans approved course providers. This is your chance to learn about how the loan amounts are set by the Australian Government and varied to meet the actual course of delivery. What’s exciting is advice on how to become a VET Student Loans approved provider.

    Appointed in the opening months of this year, the South Australian Skills Commissioner is taking a leadership role in shaping the state's training system through responsibility of identifying skills needs and skills investment priorities.

    ◾ How the Commissioner's work is likely to impact reform of the South Australian skills system.
    ◾ Potential future engagement between the Commissioner and the independent RTOs into the future.

    The Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) will spend the year playing close attention to delivery of VET In Schools programs and how RTOs transitioned to online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic, so come along to better understand the ramifications for your RTO. You’ll also get a better understanding of AQSA’s work to support your self-assurance capability, to critically examine and continuously improve practice for sustained compliance.

    This presentation will provide an in-depth assessment of how much South Australia's vocational education and training system depends on independent RTOs. You’ll also see how Victorian government funding for students with independent RTOs compares against other states and territories.

    ITECA and TAFE SA have a pioneering partnership that allows independent RTOs to access public TAFE facilities to deliver vocational education and training program.  This is your chance to understand how this partnership provides a unique opportunity to expand the quality offering of your organisation.
