Membership of the Independent Tertiary Education Council Australia (ITECA) empowers empowers your team with the influence to drive reform. From time to time, critical issues arise that need a particular focus and that's when an ITECA Taskgroup is formed.
The ITECA Taskgroups have a single focus to address a particular issue. They are a great way for you to collaborate with other professionals across the higher education, vocational education, training and skills sectors. The current ITECA Taskgroups are as follows:

ITECA Dual Sector Provider Task Group
Purpose: To identify opportunities to reduce the compliance and reporting burden faced by providers supporting students in both the higher education and vocational training sectors. The aim is through regulatory convergence to reduce the red-tape these dual sector providers face.
Stakeholder Engagement: Participants in this task group will meet with staff from the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) and the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) on this matter.
Member Participation: Employees of any ITECA Corporate, Associate or Business Plus supporter can participate in this task group.

ITECA Remote, Rural & Regional Student Support Task Group
Purpose: This group has been formed in response to a request from the Australian Government to meet with ITECA members to get advice and guidance on best practice when it comes to providing support to students from remote, rural and remote communities.
Stakeholder Engagement: Participants in this task group will meet with consultants appointed by the Australian Government that have been engaged to consult with tertiary education providers on this matter.

With the opening of borders delayed, ITECA has advised the Australian Government that the international education sector and students need certainty.
Governments have agreed to extend availability of the Undergraduate Certificate as a qualification in the AQF until mid-2025.
