The Victorian Department of Education and Training (DET) funded the Independent Tertiary Education Council Australia (ITECA), formerly the Australian Council for Private Education and Training (ACPET) to develop and deliver a specific professional learning Toolbox for registered training organisations (RTO) who deliver vocational education and training (VET). This Toolbox was part of a broader project to support ACPET members’ readiness for NDIS client enrolments in VET.
The NDIS is being introduced across Australia to help people with a disability lead ‘an ordinary life’, and to support and provide reasonable assistance. These significant NDIS related changes clearly have implications for RTOs, their staff and trainers and assessors (TAs) who are responsible for the formal enrolment and training of NDIS clients.
The NDIS represents a transformational change to the way people with a disability interact with service providers & help them pursue their goals, objectives and aspirations.
The Toolbox is a valuable resource for all training providers, and provides an extensive collection of online resources, with accompanying downloadable support materials, to build knowledge of:
The NDIS system in general:
- Administration processes for enrolling NDIS clients in VET; and
- Training and assessment for NDIS clients.
