National Policy Briefing Introduction —

The ITECA National Policy Briefing series are critical as they allow you to understand government policy changes, parliamentary inquiries and departmental reviews that will impact the delivery of quality skills training, higher education, and international education.  The briefings will empower you with the information to make sound business decisions and to appreciate how ITECA's member-driven policy advocacy is shaping the national conversation on key issues.


Briefing Issue —

The Australian Universities Accord and independent higher education providers.

Key Discussion Points —

This briefing will review the proposed Australian Universities Accord and what it may mean for independent higher education providers.  It will bring you up to date on:

    -  The reasons the Australian Government believes the Accord is necessary.
    -  The leadership being provided by ITECA members in the development of the accord.
    -  The issues canvassed in the Australian Government's discussion paper and ITECA's response.
    -  What the long-term implications of the Accord are likely to be for independent higher education providers.

This meeting comes at a critical time in the Accord's drafting process and will help you get involved in ITECA's advocacy to protect the interests of independent higher education providers.

This briefing is open to an employee of an ITECA member that has an interest in the Australian Government's formulation of higher education policy.  It is especially relevant to:

    -  Senior executives from independent higher education providers.
    -  Staff from RTOs with an interest in the policy linkages with the higher education sector.
    -  Policy staff from member industry associations and professional staff.
    -  Leaders from member Jobs and Skills Councils.

As a participant at this meeting, you'll be able to build relationships with senior executives and policy experts that will help you gain insights into industry trends, policy changes, and other developments that could impact your institution.
