The Independent Tertiary Education Council Australia (ITECA) continues to lead discussions on the future of Australia’s international education sector, emphasising the sector’s critical role in strengthening Australia’s global connections and driving economic prosperity. After all, even in the current downturn experienced by independent providers they are supporting.

The ITECA International Education Policy Forum, held in Canberra, provides members with direct access to key political leaders across the political spectrum during a vital time for the sector. This forum gives ITECA members a unique opportunity to gain first-hand insights into the policies shaping international education and to actively contribute to discussions on the independent sector’s role in this global industry.

ITECA engages in more than one hundred meetings with Federal parliamentarians. The ITECA International Education Policy Forum is distinctive in that it brings all major political perspectives together in one event, ensuring that members can engage directly with leaders on both current priorities and future opportunities for the sector.

The significance of this forum lies in its role as a bridge between independent education providers, policymakers, and industry stakeholders, ensuring that the contributions of the independent sector and international education are better recognised in the national policy debate.

ITECA’s Member-Driven Advocacy — International Education Policy Forum

By focusing on the independent sector, ITECA highlights the vital role of the spectrum of independent providers in shaping Australia’s international reputation and economic strength.

The ITECA International Education Policy Forum underscores ITECA’s member-driven approach to advocacy. By facilitating direct conversations between members and policymakers, ITECA ensures that the voices of independent education providers are not only heard but are influential in shaping the national agenda.
