ITECA Women In Tertiary Education —

A member-driven initiative, ITECA Women In Tertiary Education is a community of women across the skills training and higher education sectors that come together to learn from each other, support each other, and empower each other in their careers. It provides a save environment for share ideas and hear from leaders from across the business community and government about what it takes to overcome challenges.  This community is proudly supported by ITECA Premier Partners, Axcelerate and Learning Vault.

Guest Speaker — Hon. Fiona Nash Regional Skills Commissioner Australian Government   [Website]

Professional Profile —

Appointed as Rural Education Commissioner in 2021, her focus is to support the implementation of the Napthine and Halsey Reviews through partnerships and coordinated efforts across governments, local communities, education providers and employers.

Ms Nash has previously represented New South Wales in the Australia Senate from 2004 to 2017, holding several ministerial roles including Minister for Regional Development, Minister for Regional Communications and Shadow Parliamentary Secretary for Regional Education. Along with the ITECA Chief Executive, Troy Williams, she is one of several prominent tertiary education leaders appointed by the Minister for Education to serve on the Australian Universities Accord Reference Group

She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the Mitchell College of Advanced Education, later known as Charles Sturt University.
